What is the difference between new metals and traditional metals?

Heavy metal is the more "orthodox" form of metal.

New metal retains the distorted tones and extreme volume of traditional heavy metal, but mixes it with hip-hop rhythms, rap, and more melodic lead parts; the sound of new metal is actually more raw and primitive than that of heavy metal, because the guitars in new metal are not as complex or as important as they are in heavy metal.

New metal is a very general term, and as I personally understand it, there are broad and narrow definitions of new metal. Broadly speaking, it encompasses almost all of the new forms of heavy music that emerged in the nineties, including Metalcore, Rap-Metal, Industrial-Metal and so on, while narrowly speaking, it refers to Rap-Metal only. Due to this confusion, many bands that have nothing to do with rap have been mistaken for rap metal by those who don't know what new metal is. nu-metal, as interpreted by authoritative mediums, originally means rage metal, which has more elements of anger and rage instilled in the music by the band members than traditional heavy metal, and the mediums used by the band members to express this idea vary, with core, rap-metal, industrial-metal, rap-metal, industrial-metal and so on. The medium through which the band members expressed this idea varied from core, rap, industrial, etc. So much so that the genre is intertwined with other genres. This type of music is so rich in musical elements and styles that it has not become an independent musical style until now.
