When I mention spicy strips, I can always think of a dime of spicy strips in the canteen when I was a child, a bag of drinks at 20 cents, a bag of dried mangoes and Tangseng meat at 50 cents. These cheap and delicious snacks became the source of happiness when we were young. Looking back now, when we were young, we were still obsessed with the taste of spicy strips.

With the growth of our generation, spicy strips have also moved from grocery stores and campuses to mass production lines and supermarkets. Not only children like eating, but also young people are eating. Spicy strips have gradually become an increasingly huge category of zero food, accounting for half of the snack industry.

Recently, Weilong and Spicy Prince, two leading companies of spicy strips, announced an increase in product prices. Many netizens shouted, "I can't afford spicy strips when I was a child, and I can't afford them when I grow up."

In this regard, the spicy prince explained that since 2022, as the global prices of bulk raw materials have continued to rise, the prices of grain, oil and food have hit record highs, so the raw material costs of products are also rising. The main raw materials used in the production of spicy strips are: rapeseed oil, flour, pepper, spices, packaging materials and so on.

I can understand that the head enterprise announced the price increase. After all, as an enterprise, we must put cost and profit first, especially in the current epidemic situation, all walks of life are more difficult, and appropriate price adjustment is also for the better survival of enterprises. There are three main reasons why I choose to continue to buy spicy strips:

First, the choice to continue to buy spicy strips comes from the memories and feelings of this snack. After all, there are not many memories of childhood. When I was a child, I liked to eat spicy strips and ham sausage. Although I have grown up now, every time I go to the supermarket to buy snacks, I will always buy spicy strips and sausages. This has become a habit of mine.

At present, the prices of oil, vegetables, fruits and other necessities are rising, so I don't feel too scared or unacceptable about the price increase of spicy strips. After all, among the foods we eat, spicy strips still belong to the kind that the price is relatively close to the people and we are reluctant to eat.

Third, although I don't have any opinions on the price increase of spicy strips, I still hope that businesses can insist on checking the quality of food while standardizing prices, and don't raise prices, but the quality will decline. Anyway, sometimes I am disappointed with the spicy strips I bought. Even if the amount is small, the key is not delicious.

Therefore, as the cost rises, the price of spicy strips will also be adjusted. As long as the product quality, taste and food safety are in place, I will still support it.
