Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom
Zhuangzi's classic wisdom fable 1 Pengcheng Wan Li
-stick to your dreams and be not afraid of cynicism.
In ancient times, there was a bird called Peng. Dapeng bird's back is as high as Mount Tai. When it flies, its wings are like clouds covering the sky. Once, Dapeng bird flew to the South China Sea. It beats the water with its wings on the surface of the South China Sea, and it takes 3,000 miles to flap it.
It flew high into the sky, rolled up a storm and flew out of Wan Li in one fell swoop. It flies out once, and it takes half a year to fly back to the South China Sea to rest. When it flies high into the sky, its back is facing the blue sky, but the clouds are below it.
Xiao An Bird, who lives in a depression, is puzzled to see Dapeng Bird flying so high and so far. He said, "Where else does he want to fly?" We flew, but we dropped a few feet. We flew around wormwood, which is considered to be flying to the edge. Where does Dapeng bird want to fly? "
Analysis: A short-sighted person cannot understand the pursuit of ambitious people. Shang Yang in the Warring States period said that sages are incompatible with customs, and those who achieve great things are not expected. If you want to achieve great things, don't listen to the opinions or suggestions of people around you.
The principle that those who achieve great things do not seek common interests is, in layman's terms, to seek particularly important things without consulting others. Because people who pursue very important things must have extraordinary vision, mind and tolerance. Just take a look. If you discuss it with others, it will be more troublesome to search. Just like a bird can't understand Dapeng's ambition.
Zhuangzi's classic wisdom fable story 2 "Deer Hou raises birds"
-chopping wood without food is exhausting.
Once upon a time, a seabird landed on the outskirts of the capital of Lu. Lv Hou thought it was a divine bird, so he was caught and personally greeted the ancestral temple, where he gave a respectful banquet and supported it. Every day, he played Jiu Shao, an ancient music, and arranged for him to eat.
Lv Hou's hospitality makes seabirds dizzy and afraid, and they dare not eat any meat or drink a glass of water. Three days later, they died.
Analysis: Do things without looking at the object, and act completely according to your own likes and dislikes. Kindness can also make things worse. Lv Hou keeps birds as his own way of enjoyment, not according to the bird lifestyle. The bird was scared to death by him.
Zhuangzi's classic wisdom fable 3 "Knock Out"
-Concealed, dynamic and timely.
Ji Aiko domesticated cockfighting for Zhou Xuanwang. Ten days later, Zhou Xuanwang asked, "Is the chicken tamed?" Ji Xunzi replied, "No, I am vain."
Ten days later, Zhou Xuanwang asked Ji if he had trained the chicken. Ji Huizi replied, "No, I'd better scream when I hear the noise and jump when I see the shadow."
10 days later, Zhou Xuanwang asked Ji again, and Ji replied: "I still care fast and have strong spirit."
Ten days later, he asked Ji, who said, "Almost. Even if other chickens crow, it will not change. It looks like a wooden chicken, its spirit is all condensed. Other chickens dare not fight, turn around and run. " Zhou Xuanwang was so happy that he immediately took the chicken to a cockfight.
Analysis: Zhuangzi believes that people with great wisdom, superb skills and real courage should be hidden, and their performance may be dull, clumsy and timid. However, when they are really needed, these people are calm and can show extraordinary ability.
Through this fable, Zhuangzi expounded the dialectical thinking of Taoism, that is, the opposing poles are close to each other and transform each other at a certain height.
Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom 4. The art of killing dragons-nothing is done, nothing is empty.
There was a man named Zhu who was bent on learning a skill that no one else had, so he went to Suiyi to learn the skill of killing dragons. It took him three years, spent all the assets in his family, and finally learned the skill of killing dragons. Zhu went home triumphantly. However, where can you kill dragons in the world? As a result, the technology he learned was useless at all.
Zhu Zhe learned to kill dragons in a fragmented way, and it took him three years to succeed, but he didn't use his intelligence. ("Zhuangzi Lieyukou")
Analysis: Learning must proceed from reality and stress practical results. If divorced from reality, no matter how great the skill is, it will be useless.
Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom: 5. Beat sparrows with pearls-thoughtless, not worth the loss.
The Queen's Pearl is a very precious treasure. There was a man who liked to shoot birds, but he shot a sparrow flying thousands of feet in the air with pearls as pellets. People laughed at him when they saw it. What is the reason? This is because the price paid is too expensive and the gain is too slight.
Original text: "Today, there is this person who plays thousands of birds with Hou Zhizhu, and the world laughs at it. What is this? Those who use it are heavy, and those who want it are light. " ("Zhuangzi Qin Wang")
Analysis: No matter what you do, you should pay attention to the weight of gains and losses. It is a very foolish act to throw away something valuable for something that has no value at all. This fable tells us that we must consider the cost and price when doing something. Otherwise, even if you make something.
Zhuangzi's classic wisdom fable 6. Look at the ocean and sigh-one should not be complacent.
When autumn comes, it rains heavily and countless small streams flow into the Yellow River. I saw that the waves were rough and the river surged, flooding the sandbar in the middle of the river and flooding the depression on the shore. The river suddenly widened, and even the cattle and horses on the other side of the river could not be distinguished from each other.
What a spectacular sight! Hebo couldn't help feeling smug when he thought that all the water in the world had come to him. He walked eastward with the running water, enjoying the waterscape as he walked. He came to the North Sea and looked east. He was not surprised, but when he saw the connection between water and the sky, he didn't know where the end of the water was.
Hebo looked blankly for a while, then turned to the sea and said with emotion, "As the saying goes,' People who know the truth think they are better than anyone else'." That's who I am! "
Analysis: no mountains, no flat land; Without the sea, there is no flow. There is a mountain outside the mountain, and there is a sky outside. Each of us is actually very small. Looking at the ocean and sighing literally means looking up and sighing because of major events, and it is extended to describe sighing your smallness in front of major events.
Doing things now is more like feeling helpless because of incompetence or insufficient conditions. This fable is to tell us not to be arrogant, let alone aim too high. It is really hard to accept the idea and practice of sitting in the well and watching the sky. It should be noted that there are people outside, and there are days behind!
Chapter 7 of Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom touched the battle of savage war-fighting again after World War I, the advantage of the snail's horn.
Dai Jin said to Liang, "Do you know a small animal called snail?" Liang Wanghui replied, "I know." The Jin people added, "There are two countries on the snail's horn. The one in the left corner is called touching country, and the one in the right corner is called Guo Man.
These two countries often fight for territory. After every war, there are always corpses everywhere, and tens of thousands of people die; It often takes ten days for the victorious country to catch up with the defeated army. "
Hui Wangdao: "Ah! You made this up! " The Jin people said, "Please allow me to prove it to you. Does your imagination have boundaries in an infinite universe? " King Hui said, "No," the Jin people said, "Your imagination is arbitrary in the universe, but once you return to reality, the places you can reach are limited to the four seas and nine continents. Comparing limited reality with infinite imagination, if there is nothing, isn't it insignificant? " King Hui said, "You are right."
The Jin people said, "Where we can reach, there is a state of Wei. After Wei moved the capital to Liang Guo, there was Liang Guo, and only Liang Guo had Liang Wang. Is there any difference between Liang Wang and humans? " King Hui thought for a moment and said, "There seems to be no difference." After Wei and Jin left, Liang was depressed, as if he had lost something.
Analysis: In the world, we are all very small. We are cherishing life and our world.
Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom 8 and Hui Shi's discussion on fish
Zhuangzi and Hui Shi are watching fish in the city. Zhuangzi said, "How happy the fish are swimming around."
Hui Shi, an expert in logical argumentation, immediately caught a point: "You are not a fish, how do you know the happiness of a fish?"
Zhuang Zi smiled and replied with the same logic: "You are not me either. How do you know I don't understand the happiness of fish? "
Analysis: In logic, this is a famous example. Some people say that Zhuangzi is somewhat sophistry in logic. But this is actually another story: Zhuangzi told Hui Shi not to impose your theory on others, because you can't replace others. Hui Shi was famous for his erudition in ancient times. When traveling, he followed behind with a book of five cars, and gained a reputation by eloquence and erudition, so Zhuangzi said so.
Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom: 9. Know a lot about cows
My master is Liang Zainiu. When you reach out, lean on your shoulders, step on your knees, the sound is very harmonious, just like beautiful music, which is in line with the melody of Yao Shi's Jing Shou. That movement is also very rhythmic, just like the beautiful dance of Sanglin. When King Hui of Liang saw God, he praised him and said, "Ha, good! How did your technology reach such a superb level? " My master put down his knife and said to Liang, "I like exploring the Tao, which is a step further than ordinary technology." When I started dissecting a cow, I saw a whole cow. I don't know the internal structure of the cow's body, and I don't know where to start. Three years later, what I saw was the gap between the bones of the cow, not the whole cow. Today, I kill cattle by feeling, and I don't need to look with my eyes to know how to use the knife. The organizational structure of cattle is regular. Where I enter the knife, there are gaps between the muscles and bones, and I never touch the bones of cattle, let alone the big bones. A skilled cook has to change a knife every year because he cuts it with a knife. The average chef changes a knife every month because he cuts it with a knife. The knife I used to kill cattle has been used for 19 years; Thousands of cows have been slaughtered, but the blade is still as sharp as if it had just been sharpened on a millstone. Why is this? It is because there are gaps between the organizational structures of cattle. Compared with these gaps, the blade is as thin as if there is no thickness at all. It is certainly more than enough to run between tissues with gaps with a knife without thickness! So 19 years later, my knife is as good as new. Although my skill has reached this level, I still dare not be careless when dissecting a cow. I'm always careful and absorbed. There is no hurry or too much force when entering the knife. The cow body was solved, and the beef slipped from the skeleton to the ground like a pool of soil. Only then did I breathe a sigh of relief, stood there with a knife, looked around, wiped the knife with satisfaction and put it away. "
Hearing this, Liang said happily, "Great. After listening to your words, I understand the truth of self-cultivation. "
Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom 10: Everything must be sucked.
When Confucius went to Chu, he passed by a forest and saw an old man with a hunchback, holding a long bamboo pole in his hand and inserting cicadas. The old man is very skilled. As long as he wants to stick to the cicada, no one can escape. It's as simple as picking it up Confucius said in surprise, "You are so skilled that there must be a way!" !
"The hunchback old man said," I do have a method. When cicadas stick in May and June in summer, if you can put two balls on the top of the bamboo pole to prevent them from falling, cicadas rarely run away when they stick; If you don't drop three cicadas, only one cicada can escape from ten cicadas. Sticking cicadas is as easy as picking things up with your hands if you don't drop five dollars. Look at me standing here, as steady as a rock; I raised my arm, motionless as a dead branch; Although the world around me is boundless, everything in the world is colorful, and I only have cicada wings in my eyes. Nothing outside can distract my attention, nor can it affect my attention to cicada wings. How can I not stick cicadas? Hearing this, Confucius turned to his disciples and said, "If you concentrate on your skills, you can practice them perfectly. This is what the hunchback old man said! "
Analysis: If a person can eliminate all external interference, concentrate and study hard, he can master an excellent skill. Sincerity and singleness, as the ancients said, is indeed our basic attitude in doing things.
Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom 1 1 Craftsman's Stone Axe: Learn to cooperate.
There was a man in Chu who had a little white mud on the tip of his nose, as thin as the wings of a fly. Let a craftsman named Shi cut it down with an axe. When the craftsman waved the axe, he only heard a gust of wind, and his hand fell off the axe. The white mud was cut clean, but his nose was not damaged at all. People who are cut are not afraid at all. When Song heard about this, he called the craftsman Shi and said, "Let me see it again!" " The craftsman stone said, "I can cut it, but those who dare to cut me have been dead for a long time."
Analysis: No matter what you do, you must have a good partner. If you don't have a good partner, your skills will be hard to play.
Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom 12 Monkey bluffing: No matter how great your skill is, you should not be proud.
The king of Wu took a boat to play in the great river and climbed a monkey mountain. When a group of monkeys saw it, they all fled in panic and hid among thorns. There was only one monkey, but he jumped around triumphantly, deliberately showing off his dexterity in front of the king of Wu. The prince of Wu picked up a bow and arrow and shot at it. The monkey quickly caught the arrow. The king of Wu ordered his entourage to shoot arrows together, and the monkey was shot dead.
The king of Wu turned to his friend Yan and said, "This monkey boasted about his dexterity and relied on his agility to show his pride in front of me, so he died like this. Be alert! Don't take your position to be proud of others! " After Yan returned, she worshipped the sage as a teacher, tried her best to overcome her arrogance, stayed away from the wonderful vocal music, and stopped showing her face. Three years later, the whole country was praising him.
Analysis: No matter how great your technology is, it can't be regarded as a proud capital. Modesty and prudence can win people's respect.
Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom 13 Handan toddler: people can't sell themselves short.
People in Handan, the capital of Zhao State, are good at walking, not only with brisk steps, but also with very beautiful posture. There was a young man in Shouling, Yan State, who came all the way to Handan to learn the walking posture of Handan people. As a result, he not only didn't learn the way of Zhao Guoren walking, but also forgot his original walking steps and finally had to climb back.
Original text: "Yuzi, the son of the tomb guard, learned to be an official, failed to gain national power, lost his old ways, and went straight to his ears." ("Zhuangzi Qiushui")
Analysis: totally deny your own tradition and copy others' experience mechanically. Not only can you not learn the advantages of others, but you will lose your own advantages. Nowadays, in our society, toddlers in Handan can be seen everywhere. When you see something good in the west, you immediately go to school, but you don't care about the treasures left by your ancestors, and even regard it as outdated and pedantic dogma. Aren't you a toddler in Handan?
Zhuangzi's classic fable of wisdom 14 frozen hand medicine: we should look at the problem from different angles.
There was a man in the Song Dynasty who was good at preparing drugs to prevent and treat frozen hands. His family has used this medicine on their hands for generations and made a living by rinsing cotton wool. A foreigner heard about it and asked to buy his prescription. He was willing to pay 120 gold. The Song people called the whole family together to discuss and said, "Our family has been washing cotton for generations, and we can only get a few ounces of gold;" If you sell this prescription now, you can earn 120 gold at once. Just sell it to him! "
After the stranger got the prescription, he gave it to the king of Wu and praised the use of this medicine. At this time, just in time for the civil strife in Yue, the king of Wu sent him to lead the crusade against Yue. In winter, they fought a water war with the Vietnamese army, and the Vietnamese army was defeated. The king of Wu was very happy, so he cut a piece of land for him. This medicine can prevent chapped hands and has the same effect. However, some people use it to get paid, and some people still have to do hard work such as dry rinsing cotton wool, all because of different usage.
Analysis: The same thing plays a different role because of different horizons and insights. Knowledge can change fate.
