The history of Zhuhai

From the Southern Song Dynasty to the Republic of China, most of Zhuhai was under the jurisdiction of Zhongshan County (formerly known as Xiangshan County). According to the archaeological findings of polished stones and painted pottery, people from primitive tribes lived here as early as the Neolithic Age four or five thousand years ago. Around Phoenix Mountain and some islands in the Pearl River Estuary, sand dunes, hills and terraces left the remains of our ancestors.

The area under the jurisdiction of Zhuhai City is composed of most of the original jurisdictions of Zhuhai County and Doumen County, and an island management office has been established at 1949. 19521952 On February 3 1 day, Yumin County was established.
