How many Taoist priests are there now?

At present, there are more than 5,000 officially opened Taoist temples all over the country, and there are about 30,000 Quanzhen and Orthodox Taoists. The number of ordinary believers is difficult to count.

The Taoist community has its own national organization-the Chinese Taoist Association. Many local Taoist organizations have also been established in various places.

There are China Taoist Institute and China Taoist Culture Institute in Beijing, and some Taoist education and research institutions have also been established in various places.

The Chinese Taoist Association has the magazine "China Taoism", and Taoist associations and temples in some provinces and cities also have Taoist publications.

After the reform and opening up, Taoist circles held many lectures by Quanzhen School and canonization activities by Zhengyi School, so that the inheritance of Taoism was carried out in an orderly manner according to traditional ceremonies.
