In Xiaoyou Village, Baishabu Town, lanshan district City, Linyi City, the story of Wang Xiang lying on the ice is well known to all women and children. The story of lying on the ice looking for carp has been circulated here for more than 1700 years, which has influenced Linyi people from generation to generation.
Wang Xiang, a native of Linyi in the Western Jin Dynasty, served as a county magistrate, a magistrate, a Taiwei and a Taibao. As one of the "Twenty-four Filial Pieties", the core of Wang Xiang's filial piety story is mainly "Persuading filial piety to abstain from evil" and "Benevolent people love others", among which the most famous story is "Sleeping on the ice for carp". According to legend, when Wang Xiang was young, his biological mother Shi Xue fell ill and died. His father married Zhu again. Stepmother Zhu regarded Wang Xiang as a thorn in his side and a thorn in his flesh, and always tried to abuse him. However, Wang Xiang is filial by nature and never complains about her stepmother's partiality and injustice. One winter, it was freezing, and my stepmother wanted to eat carp. Wang Xiang was naked on the ice, and finally Xiaogan Heaven and Earth, the double carp jumped out of the river, giving Wang Xiang I a filial name.
Emperors of past dynasties, especially those in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, advocated "ruling the world by filial piety" despite social unrest and regime alternation. Filial piety, as an ethical norm, originated from Confucius, and Wang Xiang was a man who carried it forward and put it into practice.
Xiaoyou Village in Baishabu Town was built along the river. This river is called "Xiaohe", and the story of "sleeping on the ice for carp" happened in this river. "River freezing ice" is one of the eight scenic spots in Langya. Under the pavilion next to the river lotus pond, the monument of "Jin Yuan Gong Lie Bing" erected during Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty still stands. Promoting filial piety culture is of great practical significance for promoting family unity, neighborhood harmony, interpersonal relationship and intergenerational relationship.
