What does intellectual property mean?
The three main types of intellectual property are copyrights, patents and trademarks, of which patents and trademarks are also collectively known as industrial property.
Intellectual property rights can ostensibly be understood as "property rights in knowledge", which presupposes that knowledge has the conditions to become legal property. However, the essence of knowledge is information, which is both incorporeal and free-flowing. Once knowledge as information is disseminated, the person who provides it has no exclusive control over it. Then the intellectual work expressed by this information cannot be the property of the creator of the information in the legal sense. And the legal system of intellectual property creates an unprecedented form of property rights by giving the creator of intellectual achievements the exclusive right to use and transfer.
