What is Montessori education?

Montessori education is a method of education named after Maria Montessori (1870-1952), an Italian woman educator. From the book Scientific Methods of Education Applied to the Children's Home.

Montessori education was founded in 1907 in the slums of Rome as a method of education aimed at raising children who are independent, autonomous, responsible, caring and capable of learning.

Features

1. Child-centered. Against the adult-oriented teaching point of view, the child as a separate entity from adults.

2. Different education. Oppose fill-in-the-blanks teaching, advocate from daily life training, with a good learning environment, rich teaching aids, let the children spontaneous active learning, build their own perfect personality.

3. Grasp the sensitive period of children. The most important thing is to follow the characteristics of the sensitive period of learning to get the maximum effect of learning.

8. Abundant teaching materials and aids. Teaching aids are materials for children to work with, and through "work", children construct a perfect personality through repeated self-exercises.

9. Do away with the system of rewards and punishments. Adopting a respectful approach to the child fosters the child's budding sense of dignity.
