The fifteenth day of the first month. Chengdu Lantern Festival is a traditional folk activity developed on the basis of Yuanxiao viewing custom. From 1962, Chengdu resumed the Spring Festival Lantern Festival, which lasted for one month. During the Lantern Festival, there are folk arts, acrobatics and juggling performances in the park. There are all kinds of local snacks; There is also the burden of casting sugar and selling windmills. Every Lantern Festival has more than one million tourists.
2. Chengdu Flower Festival
Every January. Chengdu Flower Festival began in the Tang and Song Dynasties and has a history of more than 1000 years. The address of the Flower Festival is Qingyang Palace outside the west gate of Chengdu. It is said that Li Laojun, the ancestor of Taoism, was born on February 15th of the lunar calendar, so since the Tang Dynasty, people have held an annual temple fair here.
Because February in Chengdu is a season of sunny weather, pleasant spring and blooming flowers, it is also said that February 15th is the birthday of flowers. Therefore, a flower show is held here every February.
3. Xinjin Dragon Boat Club
Dragon Boat Festival. Dragon boat race is one of the traditional customs of people in southern China. Although Chengdu is north of the Yangtze River, it is also a land of water towns, so the history of dragon boat racing is also very long. Until the 1960s, the dragon boat race in Chengdu was still held on the Jinjiang River near Wangjiang Park.
However, after the 1970s, the rivers in the urban areas were no longer suitable for holding dragon boat races. Therefore, Nanhe River in Xinjin County, Chengdu, with its superior geographical conditions, will make the Dragon Boat Festival more and more prosperous. In addition to traditional programs such as dragon boat races, the Dragon Boat Festival also includes dragon boat modeling performances and night floats.
4. Tian Peng Peony Club
Before and after Qingming. Pengzhou, located in the north of Chengdu, which was called Tian Peng in ancient times, is a peony cultivation base in Sichuan. Since the Tang and Song Dynasties, local people have gathered to enjoy flowers, and the third day of the third lunar month is designated as the Flower Exploration Festival every year.
In order to carry forward this folk tradition, Pengzhou is scheduled to hold the annual Peony Festival around Tomb-Sweeping Day every year. During the Peony Fair, I visited the single crystal besides displaying and selling precious peony flowers.
5. Xindu Guihua Club
Around the Mid-Autumn Festival. When the osmanthus in Gui Hu, the new capital, is fragrant, it is also the time when the lotus flowers in the lake are in full bloom. At this beautiful moment, tourists are weaving. Therefore, Xindu county government decided to hold osmanthus party around Mid-Autumn Festival every year.
During the Osmanthus Festival, the city not only invited people to enjoy Osmanthus fragrans in the garden, pay homage to the Temple of Heaven, visit cultural relics, calligraphy and painting exhibitions and other cultural activities, but also held material exchange meetings, exhibited famous local snacks, and held songs, dances and drama performances with local characteristics.
