Looking back at the history of Volkswagen GOL, the Brazilian god car, this Gol has no husband!
However, even such a car manufacturer with the largest sales volume in the world who knows China has products that can't be played in China. This car is called Goyle.
Yes, it is Goyle of golf, but it has no husband. Its English name is GOL. Although there is only a word difference, they belong to two cars completely.
Gore was first developed and produced by Volkswagen in Brazil in combination with its own domestic automobile market. The status of this car in Brazil can be regarded as a domestic LaVida, which can be described as a national car. It has won the title of the most popular car in Brazil for 27 consecutive years, and has also created a single-year total output of more than 3.4 million vehicles.
Perhaps because it saw business opportunities, in February 2003, Shanghai Volkswagen introduced the second generation Goyle from Brazil to China. However, after coming to China, Goyle did not shine as brightly as in Brazil, and the overall output and sales volume did not meet expectations.
By May of that year, Goyle's sales volume was only about 2,000 units, which was not bleak.
On the one hand, it is the market difference. The Brazilian market is similar to the Indian market, preferring small hatchbacks, which are flexible and convenient to park. However, consumers in the domestic market prefer cars.
On the other hand, Goyle's own products also have some problems.
Goyle, which was first introduced early, is a two-door model. Although the three-door model looks harmonious, it is inconvenient to enter the back row.
You know, when the domestic auto market is not as full of flowers as it is now, most consumers attach great importance to practicality when buying a car. Therefore, the sales volume of the two-door version of Goyle is naturally unpopular.
In the later period, although Shanghai Volkswagen adjusted in time and produced the traditional five-door model, the performance of the rear space was still relatively general, and many accessories still needed to be imported, so the overall maintenance cost in the later period was relatively high.
At that time, Shanghai Volkswagen already had a POLO of the same level, which was better than Goyle in terms of mass base and later cost.
Secondly, Goyle's overall product strength and quality reputation are not very good. Problems such as steering sinking, slow acceleration and brake light failure also occur from time to time.
Thus, in 2007, four years after the domestic Gower went on the market, this car officially ended its life cycle in China.
In a word, Goyle finally stopped production because of acclimatization and problems with his own products.
But in my opinion, obviously the latter is the main reason. After all, if practicality and later cost can be considered, Goyle will not stop production at a lower price.
At the same time, in overseas markets, Goyle has been updating. Now Goyle adopts the popular family design language, which is close to the new generation of POLO, and the product strength has changed greatly compared with the original generation of Goyle.
But after the production is stopped, I wonder if you will know this golf without a husband in the future.
