What does pink mean?

Red powder, alias Hongshengdan, Shengyao and panacea, is a mixture of mercury oxide and mercury nitrate. Orange-red flake or powder crystal, the flake thickness is about 2 mm, one side is smooth and slightly shiny, and the other side is rough, which seems to be attached with a layer of powder. Heavy, hard and brittle, flaky, fragile, with sparse pores scattered on the cross section, slightly smelly and tasteless.

pharmacological action

1. Antibacterial effect: the concentration of red powder 6×l0(-5) has a strong bactericidal effect on common suppurative bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and its bactericidal effect is more than 100 times that of carbolic acid. However, because the compatibility and extraction methods of red powder are not exactly the same, there are also differences in drug composition, bactericidal power and curative effect.

2. Promote wound healing: postoperative wound infection. Wash the wound with normal saline cotton ball, sprinkle a thin layer of red powder and cover it with sterile dressing. When pus is reduced and granulation is born, normal saline gauze is used instead. Compared with the cases of surgical incision infection with rivanol gauze alone, the wound healing time is earlier and the curative effect is obviously different.

3. In vivo process: After applying red powder to the 2cm×2cm wound of rat skin for 4 hours, the mercury content in blood, brain, liver, kidney and other tissues increased obviously, and the mercury content in internal organs increased with the increase of dose, with the highest mercury content in kidney, followed by liver, blood and brain. Compared with the control group, there was significant difference.
