Why is an alley less than 500 meters known as "the first lane in Kaifeng"

Kaifeng and I have an indescribable intimacy. Whether it's autumn with chrysanthemum fragrance or sunny spring, I will go to Kaifeng whenever I have time. I always feel that the capital of song dynasty has endless kings and endless curiosity.

Thousands of years have left too many stories for this city. Kaifeng, the ancient capital of the Eight Dynasties, still retains some old streets, alleys and hutongs. Each street has its own story, and every brick and tile is telling its history. They carry not only the complex of a person and a family, but also the memory of a city.

Shuanglong Lane, located not far north of Dongsimen, is said to have been a place of crouching tiger and hidden dragon in past dynasties. I remember when I took a taxi to Shuanglong Lane, the taxi driver told me, "If you come to Kaifeng, you should go to Shuanglong Lane, where the two emperors lived!" The speech is full of Kaifeng people's pride.

Have to admire, after all, once lived at the foot of the imperial city, Kaifeng people still have a sense of pride in their bones, and their voices are all a few degrees superior. No wonder a seemingly ordinary place can be associated with the emperor.

Shuanglong Lane is the legendary old street in Kaifeng. According to the Ming Taizu Dream, "Shuanglong Lane is the former residence of Song Taizu and Taizong." In other words, two brothers, Zhao Kuangyin and Zhao Kuangyi, emperors of the Song Dynasty, once lived in this alley, so people called it "Shuanglong Lane".

In fact, this alley used to be called "Jill Lane", and it is precisely because two real dragons came out from here that it naturally became a "land of dragons", so people renamed "Jill Lane" as "Shuanglong Lane".

Shuanglong Lane has a long history and culture. Don't underestimate this driveway with a width of less than 500 meters and an average width of 6 meters. Since the Northern Song Dynasty, it has been bearing and representing the culture of Kaifeng. Until today, the cultural remains of various elements have become the signboard of this old lane.

Strolling through Shuanglong Lane, you can see many gatehouses and houses in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, including classic quadrangles and ordinary small miscellaneous houses, and the former residences of celebrities are also dizzying.

Especially during the Republic of China, it was a gathering place for dignitaries and celebrities. The famous mathematician Du Mengmo and politician Luo once lived here.

Kaifeng is known as the "Seventy-two Hutong with Seven Corners, Eight Alleys", and the narrow and short Hutong in Shuanglong Lane should not be underestimated.

As soon as you enter the hutong, you can see the extraordinary hutong of the Liu family in the north. According to the Records of the Place Names of Kaifeng Prefecture, Liu Chang, the minister of the Ministry of Industry in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, built a mansion on this street and set up the "Fourth Palace Treasure" archway, which was called Liu Hutong in the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty.

Compared with us, Chaoyang Hutong is more intimate. When we look at the eye-catching "Unity to the Xiangyang Courtyard" on the door, we can know that it used to be a peaceful residential courtyard.

The neighbors who live in Xiangyangyuan are like a family. The owner's baby goes to Jia Xi for dinner, and the chickens in Jia Xi go to the owner to lay eggs. Nobody cares about you or me.

Baiyige Street, named after the ancient Kannonji located in this street, was called Baiyige by Kaifeng people because Guanyin was enshrined in the temple.

The White House, a beautiful name, has experienced many ups and downs in history and was destroyed by wars and floods many times. The existing White House should have been built during Guangxu period. Baiyige Street has also been renamed many times.

Kaifeng's time-honored Chinese cakes-old Five Blessingg cakes, such as plum beans, almond cakes and mint cakes, are irresistible delicacies. It is fragrant, sweet and not greasy.

The hutong of Shuanglong Lane hides little-known secrets. Houjiahutong was founded in Qianlong period, and Hou Hanliang, a beginner of Qing Dynasty, once lived here. Champion Hutong was established in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty, so there must be many literati going in and out of Hutong.

It is said that the biggest secret of Shuanglong Lane is that there are not only two emperors but also two great presidents in the alley. First, during the Tongzhi period, Yuan Shikai and his stepfather Yuan lived in Shuanglong Lane. 2. Xu Shichang Qing Xianfeng was born in Shuanglong Lane, Kaifeng on September 13th. I don't know if there is any textual research.

There are two emperors and two presidents in an alley, which is rare in history. In fact, I think that putting aside these humanistic legends, just the historical secrets contained in the ancient houses lined with Shuanglong Lane are enough for us to go to the Expo.

I found that some old houses in Shuanglong Lane are being rebuilt to build other people's houses. Maybe when I come back next time, I can live in Shuanglong Lane and read it carefully.

The antique courtyard is sunny and the years are quiet. Every time I come to Kaifeng, I get different results. This summer sunset in Shuanglong Lane brings me faint joy in silence.
