What are "scholars" and "scholar class"?

Scholar, in ancient times, refers to literati, and it is also a general term for ancient Chinese literati and intellectuals. They learn knowledge, spread culture, respect the king politically, follow the Tao academically and live between the Tao and the king. They are participants in national politics and creators and inheritors of China's traditional culture.

Scholars are a special status in ancient China and an elite social group unique to Chinese civilization.

Scholar class refers to a social group formed by people of different classes due to some similar characteristics, such as intellectuals who are mainly engaged in mental work. The same class is divided into different grades due to different social and economic status.
