Terminology Interpretation in Literary Criticism

Literary criticism is an important part of literary activities.

There are two kinds of literary criticism: broad sense and narrow sense:

Literary criticism in a broad sense belongs to the category of literary theory research. It is not only an indispensable and important content in literary theory research, but also a dynamic, guiding and constructive factor in the whole literary activity, which not only promotes the creation, dissemination and acceptance of literature, but also affects the development of literary thoughts and theories. It covers a wide range of contents, including book reviews and theoretical research.

Literary criticism in a narrow sense belongs to the category of literature and art. It is the most active, frequent and universal research form in literature and art. It is a scientific interpretation activity based on literary appreciation and guided by literary theory to analyze, study, recognize and evaluate writers' works and literary phenomena, which is the deepening and improvement of literary appreciation.
