What are the categories of media? What is multimedia

The general multimedia system consists of the following four components: multimedia hardware system, multimedia operating system, media processing system tools and user application software. Multimedia hardware system: including computer hardware, sound/video processor, a variety of media input/output devices and signal conversion devices, communication transmission equipment and interface devices. Among them, the most important ones are multimedia information processing chips and boards, CD-ROM drives, etc., which are developed and generated according to multimedia technology standards. Multimedia operating system: or known as multimedia core system (Multimediakernelsystem), with real-time task scheduling, multimedia data conversion and synchronization control of multimedia devices, drive and control, and graphical user interface management. Media processing system tools: or known as multimedia system development tools software, is an important part of the multimedia system. User application software: according to the end-user requirements of the multimedia system and customized application software or for a field of user application software system, it is for large-scale users of the system products. Media should be divided into three categories according to its form of plane, airwaves, network, namely:

1, plane media: mainly including printing, non-printing, photoelectricity, and so on.　　

2, airwave media: mainly including radio, television advertising (subtitle, standardized version, film and television) and so on.　　

3, network media: mainly including network indexing, print, animation, forums and so on.
