The historical story of Feitian Moutai
Since 1953, Moutai Distillery has been under the direct leadership of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Industry. Moutai has launched the "Golden Wheel" trademark and begun exporting it, which is now the "Five Star" trademark. However, this trademark pattern is regarded as a "political trademark" by foreign politicians and is therefore subject to discrimination. It was not until 1957 that the Maotai Distillery Factory was approved by the Ministry of Light Industry in order to facilitate export sales. At that time, the factory leaders held a meeting to study and decide to redesign the export packaging. Zheng Yixing, the then director of the factory, proposed that it could be combined with the "Feitian" popular among the people in Maotai Town. The background design is based on the beautiful legend of "Fairy offering wine by the river" and named "Flying Sky". The graphic is selected from the mural of the flying fairy in the Dunhuang Grottoes in ancient China, which is a figure in Buddhism. Fairies fly around in the sky, some step on the auspicious clouds and slowly descend; some hold their heads high and wave their arms, soaring into the sky; some hold flowers in their hands, soaring into the sky; some hold flowers in their hands and float across the sky. When we see such graphics, we can't help but think of the great artistic shock that the ancients brought us with their faith in the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang. Since then, "Feitian" brand Moutai has been selling well both at home and abroad. Therefore, the original idea of ??"Feitian" brand Moutai came from the national liquor master Zheng Yixing. (In view of Zheng Yixing’s special contribution to Moutai Distillery, when Moutai Distillery built the National Liquor Cultural City, a statue was made of him and he was honored as the “National Liquor Master”).
