Electronic logistics (E-logistics) refers to the coordination, control and management of the whole logistics process by electronic means, especially the Internet technology, so as to realize all intermediate process services from the front end of the network to the end customers. Also known as logistics electronization or logistics informatization, its most remarkable feature is the integrated application of various software and logistics services. The purpose of e-logistics is to make logistics business activities convenient and fast through the electronization of logistics organization, transaction, service and management.
The original meaning of logistics is "physical distribution" or "goods distribution", which is a part of supply chain activities and a process of planning, implementing and controlling the efficient and low-cost flow and storage of goods, services and related information from the place of origin to the place of consumption in order to meet the needs of customers. Logistics takes warehousing as the center to promote the synchronization of production and market.
