What are the sources of embankment fillers?

Source of embankment filler: boulder soil, pebble soil, gravel soil, medium sand, coarse sand, etc. The latter commonly uses steel slag, construction waste and so on. These two materials have high friction coefficient, easy compression, good water permeability and little influence on strength by water, so they are the best materials for filling embankment.

This material can also be divided into general fillers and industrial wastes. The former usually refers to silt and mixed soil composed of sand and clay. The latter mainly includes fly ash and electric lime. These materials can obtain enough strength and stability after compaction, and are good common fillers.

1, the organic matter in the soil shall not exceed 5%.

2. The content of soluble salt in soil should not exceed the specified amount.

5, sand viscosity is small, easy to loose, conditional should be appropriately mixed with some cohesive soil, or fill the surface and reinforcement, in order to improve the stability of subgrade.

6. Filling embankment with fly ash should meet the requirements of relevant laws and regulations, and other industrial waste residues should be tested for harmful substances before use to avoid harmful substances exceeding the standard and polluting the environment.
