Press the M key of the keyboard to bring up the floating panel of the material editor. There are two choices in the mode. The first is the traditional mode, which simplifies the material editor, and the second is the slate material editor. Slate Material Editor is a material editor interface. When designing and editing materials, it uses nodes and associations to graphically display the structure of materials. It is an alternative to the compact material editor.
