Introduction of Pingyang Mingshan Ancient Village

Mingshan Village was founded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty with a history of about 1700 years. It is located on the outskirts of Kunyang Town, Pingyang County, Wenzhou, surrounded by water on three sides and mountains on one side, with "three more"-many ancient houses, many ancient trees and many celebrities.

Mingshan Village has been inhabited by Cai, You, Xu, Chen and others since ancient times, and later villagers with different surnames moved here. According to statistics, there are currently 36 villagers' surnames in this village.

Most of the ancient houses in Mingshan Village are quadrangle-style buildings, which are made of blue bricks, with exquisite shapes, exquisite wood carvings, simple and regular buildings and ancient charm, and belong to typical traditional houses in southern Zhejiang.

There are many ancient temples in Mingshan Village, including Taiyin Palace, Majiu Palace, Chenfu Hall, Dongyue Temple and Mingshan Temple. In addition, there are ancient bridges, ancient wells, ancient tombs, ancient docks, ancient stone carvings and many other cultural relics, which are large in size and concentrated in layout, and have rich historical, cultural and landscape values.

Introduction.

Pingruitang River runs through the village and forms several tributaries here. Banyan trees must be planted at the waterside of Jiangnan water town. Bridges and banyan trees are inseparable, and Mingshan Village is no exception.

There used to be eight ancient banyan trees at the end of the village. Because of typhoon and other reasons, there are only four big banyan trees left in the village: one by the Yi Ming Bridge in Mingshan Village, one by the lotus pond in the village, and the other two by the river in front of Ma Jiu Niangniang Palace. The towering ancient banyan trees are leafy and intertwined, and they are integrated with many stone bridges in the Tanghe River system. The bridge is mottled with bluestones and the banyan trees are lush.
