Grandfather's Garden is excerpted from the famous modern novelist Xiao Hong's autobiographical long novel Hulanhe Zhuan.
A small garden, a big world, in which I played and grew up happily, and where my grandfather cultivated and labored; I was my grandfather's "happy fruit", and my grandfather was my childhood playmate and my "umbrella", accompanying and caring for me. I'm not going to be able to do that, but I'm going to be able to do it.
In the child's world, the wind and rain, flowers blossom and fall, bugs go, birds fly, there is a lot of fun; and the loving grandfather, he inadvertently created a natural, free, imaginative wonderful peach blossom for the child.
The illustrations in this picture book were selected for the 2021 Bologna Illustration Exhibition in Italy, and the illustrator, Gong Yanling, is a freelance illustrator from Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
