Is there any prospect for China's traditional opera?

The decline of China traditional opera can only be relative, because it was once brilliant and was the only form of entertainment for China people. Later, although there were films, because they were two completely different art forms, they had little influence on China traditional opera. As for drama and opera, especially foreign operas, even at present, they are not widely accepted. Therefore, until the reform and opening up, China's traditional opera has been brilliant. Opera was really threatened after the popularity of television. However, the number of opera lovers is considerable, including children and young people (and there is a tendency to expand). It is not the patent of middle-aged and elderly people, and it is not inferior to those who enjoy pop concerts, but it is not as brilliant as the national drama decades ago. Moreover, I found that as long as people with artistic cells, no matter what art form they like when they are young, after a certain age, a considerable number of people will turn to opera or have multiple hobbies, and opera is one of them. Some people may say that this shows that opera is an art of sunset, and only middle-aged and elderly people will appreciate it. I don't deny that the audience of traditional Chinese opera is biased towards middle-aged and elderly people, but I can't agree to define traditional Chinese opera as sunset art, which only shows that traditional Chinese opera is a kind of mellow wine, and it needs careful taste to feel its beauty. Therefore, it is not surprising that it is difficult for impetuous young people to accept opera. Only when they have a certain understanding and accumulation of life can they appreciate the beauty of opera. Besides, it is not a bad thing that the audience of Chinese opera is biased towards middle-aged and elderly people. Just as the audience of pop songs is biased towards young people, it at least shows that Chinese opera has a fixed audience and will not "leave" as the landlord fears. On the contrary, I think the present situation of China's traditional opera is a manifestation of social progress. All kinds of art forms can develop freely and have their own audiences. This is a normal phenomenon and it should last for a long time. On the contrary, the phenomenon of national drama decades ago was a unique performance, a kind of "hegemony", which did not conform to the law of social development. As a traditional opera worker, we should face the reality, and don't feel that traditional opera is not as overbearing as it was decades ago and lose confidence. On the one hand, we should maintain our own audience, on the other hand, we should be proactive and strive to expand the audience. In my opinion, China opera has been passed down for thousands of years from its germination to now, and it has a history of hundreds of years from its glorious peak to now. It is deeply rooted in the hearts of China people, and they leave without saying anything. Finally, I also agree with the view that there is no need to force it on the first floor.
