In the Ming Dynasty, the Lantern Market in Beijing was located in dengshikou, Dongcheng. There were midnight snacks, and the cities on both sides of the street had everything from jewelry and jade articles to daily necessities, as well as teahouses and restaurants for tourists to play. All the shops are hung with lanterns made of silk thread, burnt beads, bright horns, wheat straw and medulla tetrapanacis for people to watch. By the Qing Dynasty, lantern markets were all over Beijing.
According to historical records, the most prosperous and largest buildings are Dongsi Pailou, Xisi Pailou, Di 'anmen, Drum Tower, Zhengyangmen and Changdian.

Or flowers (orchids, chrysanthemums, plums, bamboos), or birds and animals (bears, phoenixes, dragons, tigers, insects, fish) and so on. In the early years, Jushenggong Dried Fruit Shop in Di 'anmenwai Street often held ice lantern exhibitions, which attracted a large number of people to watch.
On the last night of the Yuan Dynasty, both officials and ordinary people took to the streets to watch lanterns. Merchants take the opportunity to reduce the price of goods to promote sales. People can not only look at lanterns, but also take this opportunity to buy their own daily necessities. There are even temporary vendors selling lanterns, lucky lanterns, angry wind lanterns and paper lanterns with images of animals such as lions, dogs, sheep and rabbits for people to buy. Children play around with bought lanterns, forming a scene of carrying lanterns.
