How can we change the wolf sound and noise of erhu?

Two methods, using sound-absorbing block and using velvet pad.

1. Sound-absorbing block: First, move the sound-absorbing block on the suspension string down as far as possible. Then slowly slide the sound-absorbing board upward and play it once every short distance to check whether the phoneme with wolf sound no longer produces wolf sound. In this way, every time you move up 1-2 mm, try to play until the wolf sound just disappears. Generally speaking, when the sound-absorbing block slides to the position where the wolf sound just disappears, not only the wolf sound disappears, but also the empty string sound of the Hu Qin will be very clean and loud. At this point, the whole adjustment work is over. In order to make the timbre of erhu have a certain thickness, when using the sound-absorbing block, it is usually necessary to insert a little flannel pad between the strings below the sound-absorbing block and the diaphragm. Note that the less the flannel pad is inserted, the better, not too tight, otherwise it is no different from the ordinary sound-absorbing pad. If debugged properly, the following effects can be achieved on any erhu: the wolf sound is completely eliminated; Empty strings sound clean and loud; The lower handle (at least the fourth handle) is as loud as the empty string sound; The timbre of the inner string is very close to that of the outer string, and the inner and outer strings can also be used at a lower position; The timbre of the whole erhu is bright, beautiful and moving.

2, velvet pad! It is mostly used to eliminate the wolf sound in the bones of erhu. If there is a wolf sound in the lower position, it should be eliminated with a velvet pad. Although this eliminates the wolf sound, the volume of the lower handle is obviously weakened. No noise below the next handle. Buy an eraser, cut a piece of 7× 10×20 (mm) with a blade, drill two holes with a distance of 4 mm in the center of the center line with a needle, and put the strings in. After the strings are tightened, the rubber blocks are hung on the two strings (of course, below the size of the piano) and do not contact with the snakeskin, which will not weaken the sound of the piano, but it does eliminate the wolf sound and can also make noise under the handle. This method can eliminate the wolf sound in erhu bones, soften the sound on the inner chord and increase the volume of the lower chord.
