Why are large areas of rural land now uncultivated?

Land has always been closely related to farmers, and land is the life and roots of farmers. But at present, farmers abandon the land away from the countryside, resulting in large areas of rural land deserted, this is why?

1, low income from farming, low motivation of farmers;

With the development of the economy, the efficiency of traditional rural agriculture is declining year by year. Influenced by the traditional rural farming methods and their own arable land area, farmers' land cultivation just to maintain the most basic living needs. With the development of urban economy, more employment opportunities are provided. When rural people go to the cities to work, not only is the amount of labor far less than farming, but the corresponding labor remuneration is also relatively generous. Compared with the hard work of farming in the countryside, more rural people, especially young and middle-aged people, began to abandon their land and choose to live and work in the city.

The gap between urban and rural incomes has led to more and more rural people abandoning their land and choosing to go out to work. The incentive to plant in the countryside has been dealt a serious blow. Even some rural people who have deep affection for the land choose to work in cities in their leisure time in order to improve their lives and subsidize their families. At present, the factory also notes that a large number of farmers go home to work during the busy farming season, which leads to the closure of the factory. The treatment and remuneration are improved during the busy farming season to retain the farmers who return home to work in the countryside. Over time, most of them will choose to abandon their land.

With the growing income gap between urban and rural areas, the phenomenon of urban land abandonment will become more and more serious.

2. The loss of rural labor is serious, and the cultivation labor force lags behind;

Farmers have understood the hardship of farming for generations. They do not want their children to stay in the countryside and live a life with their backs to the soil. Therefore, they want their children to change their lives and the fate of the whole family by taking the college entrance examination or learning a trade and eventually staying in the city to work. As a result, rural people have been inculcating the extreme idea that their children cannot stay in the farmland and that there is no way out of farming. They do not allow their children to work in the fields. They just study hard. This has led to many young rural people not knowing how to farm and not being able to afford to suffer.

Rural people nowadays don't want their children to return to work even if their children don't get better education and employment opportunities through the college entrance examination. At present, the age of mature farming in the countryside is basically over 50 or 60 years old or even higher. They are gradually becoming unable to plow. Young people in the lower age groups are also unwilling to engage in heavy manual labor in the countryside. Farming in the countryside has become seriously outdated, and land abandonment is inevitable. This is perhaps a true reflection of the development gap between urban and rural areas in China.
