Dear Kang Kang:

Thank you for inviting me to your food festival, I'm sorry I couldn't attend.

Let me tell you a little about myself, Rescue the Children and my new school. On December 17, 1982, I was born in Canada. And I spent my childhood there. I played a lot of sports. My favorite food is fried chicken. I like to help people.

In 1995,when I was 12 years old, I read an article in the newspaper about a 12-year-old boy from Pakistan - Iqbal. It changed my life. He (the boy) worked in a factory when he was four years old. He knew that children should go to school instead of working in a factory all day. He decided to fight against the bosses. As a result, a bad man killed him. I was so angry that I decided to help them (I should mean the children who couldn't go to school). I gathered my friends and started a twelve group for twelve-year-olds. Soon many children joined us and the name of the group became "Free the Children". We raised money to help child laborers go to school. "Kids helping kids." That was our motto. I believe that one person can make a difference. Now Save the Children's 'helping' children (that's members) have 100,000 members in 35 countries. In Kenya, the school buildings are poorly constructed, with no roofs or walls, so Save the Children is building new schools there to help them. ---- Sincerely.
