American Color Society's Standard Color Reference for the United States Flag:
The red, white, and blue colors used in the U.S. Flag are defined in the 10th edition of the American Standard Color Reference published by the American Color Society. They are referred to as "White", "Old Glory Red" and "Old Glory Blue". The specified colors are only available for conventional cloth, and there is no perfect way to convert them to RGB format for screen display or CMYK format for printing. However, the remaining two colors can be approximated by the following table, based on the brightness of the white color.
(Simply put: the standard colors of the fabric will appear differently on the computer, and the blue and red colors will sometimes feel lighter on the computer)
