After the establishment of the troupe, it adhered to the literary policy of "letting a hundred flowers blossom and bringing forth the new", and made unremitting efforts in excavating, sorting out and adapting traditional plays, and achieved remarkable results. During the period of 1953, the troupe rehearsed traditional plays such as Baihua Pavilion, Liu Xi Begging for Fire, Gongbei Slope, and participated in the first local drama performance in Jinjiang Special Zone, which was well received. During the period of 1954, he rehearsed the traditional repertoires "Old Fruits Grow Melons", "Ruilan Walking in the Rain" and "San Niangs Mill", and participated in the second local drama performance in Jinjiang Special Zone, which was once again successful. In August of the same year, the traditional play "Baihua Pavilion" participated in the second provincial local opera viewing and performance conference, and won the third prize and the actor award. Later, in cooperation with Xianyou Carp Sound Troupe, Puxian Opera Team was formed to attend the East China Opera Observation and Performance Conference in Shanghai, and won the performance award and the second prize for the performance of Qin Tao. The exhibition "Planting Melons" was also well received, winning the actor award and the musician award.
