Where is the local drama of pingtan?

Pingtan is a local opera in Suzhou.

Suzhou Pingtan is the general name of Suzhou Pinghua and Suzhou Tanci, and it is a traditional folk art storytelling drama form that speaks and performs in Wu dialect. It originated in Suzhou and is popular in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. It was sung in Suzhou dialect.

Pingtan has a long history, and it was quite popular during the Qing Qianlong period. The most famous artist is Wang, who once sang songs for Emperor Qianlong. During Jiaqing and Daoguang years, there were four famous artists: Chen Yugan, Mao Changpei, Yu Xiushan and Lu Ruiting. During Xianfeng and Tongzhi years, there were Ma Rufei, Zhao Xiangzhou and Wang Shiquan, and then there were many famous schools, which made Suzhou Pingtan art last for more than 200 years.

In 2006, Suzhou Pingtan was selected as the first batch of new national intangible cultural heritage projects. In 2008 and 20 1 1, it was selected as the second and third batch of expansion projects.

Classification of Tantan Art Schools

Suzhou Pingtan can be roughly divided into three schools, namely, Chen (encounter dry) tune, Ma (fly) tune and Yu (Xiushan) tune. After more than one hundred years of development, a new genre has inherited the styles of these three famous artists and created and developed its own genre. Such as "Chen Diao" heirs Liu Tianyun and Yang Zhenxiong; Xia He, the successor of Jade Carving, is one of our own.

Among them, the "Ma tune" has the greatest influence on later generations, and many of them have inherited and formed their own schools, such as Xue (Xiaoqing) tune, Shen (Jian 'an) tune and Qin tune (Zhu Xueqin's development based on "Xue tune"). Zhou (Yuquan) tune developed on the basis of "Ma" tune, while Jiang (Yue Quan) tune evolved from "Zhou" tune, and its development and reproduction formed a prosperous scene of various singing styles of Suzhou Pingtan school.
