What does lightning interface mean?

Lightning interface is Apple's high-speed multifunctional I/O interface. It was September 20 12 12. At the Cao Fang Convention Center in San Francisco, USA, Apple released a brand-new Lightning Dock interface, which can be translated into "Lightning" interface in Chinese.

It has eight pins on each side, and the white part insulates these pins from each other. The outermost metal actually plays the role of grounding, so strictly speaking, the Lightning interface is designed with 9Pin pins. There are slight depressions on both sides of the connector, mainly for tightly "clamping" in the slot (there is a spring leaf on the left and right sides in the slot).

Disadvantages of Lightning interface:

Audio output of analog signals is not supported, and it is a "pure digital" interface. Similar to the difference between DVI interface and HDMI interface. That is to say, in the future, if an accessory manufacturer, such as a speaker manufacturer, introduces a speaker specifically supporting the iPhone 5 or the new iPod, it must also use digital signals completely, or a "digital-to-analog converter (DAC)" must be integrated into the speaker, which may lead to higher cost.

Apple's Lightning to 30Pin adapter does not support video output and iPod mode.

It is not compatible with the existing 30-pin interface accessories. Apple will attach USB-to-Lightning connector to iPhone 5 and new iPod, but there is no free adapter for new interface and old interface.
