What is phacoemulsification?
Phacoemulsification of cataract is an important achievement of microsurgery. It was invented by Cherman, an American, in the 1970s. After clinical verification and academic argumentation, it was popularized all over the world. The technology uses imported surgical microscope and the latest phacoemulsification treatment system in the United States to remove cataract, and doctors choose the operation method according to the specific situation of patients. During the operation, an phacoemulsification probe was inserted into a small incision at the corneal limbus of the operating eye, and the turbid lens and cortex were squeezed into chylous shape. Then, the chylous shape was sucked out by the suction perfusion system, and the anterior chamber was filled at the same time, and then the intraocular lens was implanted, so that the patient could see again. Phacoemulsification of cataract has truly realized the ideal of small incision, no pain, short operation time, no hospitalization and quick vision recovery.
Senile cataract, traumatic cataract, congenital cataract and complicated cataract can all undergo phacoemulsification, and the vision is below 0.3-0.4, regardless of maturity. Those who have no obvious surgical contraindications should be treated as soon as possible.
After cataract extraction, the essential structure of the lens is lost in the eyeball, and there are many shortcomings or deficiencies in wearing aphakic glasses (frame-type) and contact lenses. Therefore, the most ideal method is to install intraocular lens to make vision and visual field return to normal. Under normal circumstances, the implanted intraocular lens can be used for a lifetime.
Advantages of phacoemulsification;
1, the surgical incision is small, the traditional surgical incision is 12mm, and this surgical incision is less than 3mm (especially for folded crystals);
The postoperative reaction was light and the incision healed quickly.
2. Vision recovery is fast and good;
3. Small postoperative astigmatism;
4. Safety and stability;
5, the operation time is short, generally only about 5- 10 minutes;
6. The treatment effect of immature cataract is better.
