Where is the Water Margin in Wuxi?

Wuxi Water Margin is another film and television shooting base invested and built by CCTV to shoot the large-scale TV series Water Margin after Tang Cheng and San'guo City. The crew of Water Margin started shooting on March 1996, and officially started shooting on March 8/997.

Wuxi Water Margin borders San'guo City in the south and Taihu Lake in the west, covering an area of 580 temples, with a water area of 1.500 mu. The main landscape of Shuihucheng can be divided into three parts: state, county, capital and Liangshan.

County, District and Zishi Street

Counties and counties include the story scenes that reflect the general situation of social life of the middle and lower classes in the Northern Song Dynasty, including yamen, prisons, gifts, neighborhoods, shops and manors. The most distinctive scenic spot is Zishi Street. Wu Dalang Cake Shop, Wang Po Teahouse and Zheng Tu Butcher Shop, which are well-known to women and children, are built on this street. These buildings are rich in ancient style, and the meticulous and realistic old-fashioned craftsmanship has created a specific historical atmosphere in the Northern Song Dynasty. Many clips in Water Margin were shot in the county seat, such as Blood Splash in the Yuanyang Building by Zhang Dujian, The Bribery Crime by Wang Po and Ximen Qing by Song Wu. On Zishi Street, the traces left by the Water Margin can be seen everywhere.

Qingming Shanghe Street, Jincheng District

The buildings in the capital area are magnificent, including the Palace, Grand Suoguoji, Fan Lou and Gao Qiu Mansion. In "Water Margin", plays such as Song Huizong's attending the court and Lin Chong's breaking into the White Tiger Hall were filmed here. The important building "Riverside Street at Qingming Festival" in Beijing was designed and built according to the layout of Hongqiao to the market gate in the famous painting Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival by Zhang Zeduan, a painter in Song Dynasty, which fully reflected the feelings of the residents of Goulanwa Temple in Song Dynasty. Various handicraft workshops and shops reflecting the traditional culture of the Chinese nation are set up in this street, as well as various folk performances, such as juggling, puppet shows, magic and animal training.

Liangshan District is built by the mountain and the lake, and there are Liangshan Wharf, Zhaimen, Jiaochang, Mahuamen, Duan Jinting, Zhongyitang and other scenic spots along the mountain. More than a dozen ancient imitation Song boats, such as Gao Qiu official boats, rowing boats, boats and warships, used in the filming of Water Margin have been provided for tourists to visit Taihu Lake.
