Traditional repertoire of Shanghai Opera. Originally19th century British Wilde's drama "Lady Windermere's Fan", Shanghai Opera was adapted and composed according to Pan Jiaxun's translation of "Lady Windermere's Fan".

The main contents are as follows: Jin Manping, a well-known celebrity from Hong Kong and Macao, came to Shanghai 20 years ago to look for her lost baby daughter. After many inquiries, I finally learned the whereabouts of my daughter Du Manping, but because my son-in-law Xu Zhiming was afraid of affecting her reputation and status, she was forced to agree to disown her daughter just to meet her.

On Du Manping's birthday, although Jin took the opportunity to see his daughter, he dared not recognize her. Du Manping, a trusted person, mistakenly thought that Jin was Xu's mistress. In a rage, she ran away from home and went to her classmate Liu Boying's house. Jin Manping knew Liu's character well and persuaded Du Manping. When they were about to leave together, it happened that Liu Boying, Xu Zhiming, Wu Ba and others arrived.

For the sake of her daughter's innocence, Jin Manping would rather be humiliated by herself than use his quick wits to find a way to get Du out. Du Manping deeply felt Jin Manping's loving mother's heart and tried her best to repay her kindness. At this point, Xu once again obstructed and coerced Jin Manping, and she could only leave Shanghai quietly with grief.
