The Significance of Studying College Students' Environmental Awareness

[Abstract] Environmental awareness refers to a series of ways of thinking to learn and master environmental protection knowledge and develop environmental protection concepts in thinking to guide people's good environmental behavior. College students are role models of contemporary youth and pioneers of the times. Their concern and awareness of environmental protection will play an important role in the formulation and implementation of various environmental protection policies in China in the future. At the same time, dormitory is an important place for college students to live, and the generation and classified management of dormitory garbage can reflect the level of environmental awareness of college students. At present, with the enrollment expansion of colleges and universities and the expansion of the scale of students' dormitory areas, it is more common for students' dormitory garbage to be dumped, littered and placed. In this case, it is urgent to properly manage the classified management of dormitory waste in dormitory areas to promote the cultivation of environmental awareness of college students. From the perspective of classified management of dormitory garbage, this paper analyzes the problems existing in the current classified management of dormitory garbage in colleges and universities by recognizing the importance of cultivating college students' environmental awareness, and according to the existing problems, puts forward how to cultivate college students' environmental awareness by using classified management of dormitory garbage.

In recent years, colleges and universities have strengthened the cultivation and education of college students' environmental awareness, especially in dealing with a huge amount of dormitory garbage (waste). Through the classified management of dormitory garbage, we can cultivate college students' environmental awareness, guide students to develop environmental habits, optimize the management of dormitory in colleges and universities, and improve the overall environmental protection level of campus.

First, the significance of classified management of college dormitory garbage to cultivate college students' awareness of environmental protection

(A) is conducive to the cultivation of environmental awareness and habits of college students, improve their basic quality.

At present, college students' quality education is the key link in running a college, and environmental awareness education is one of the important contents of college students' quality education and an important means to improve their comprehensive quality and moral cultivation. A high-quality college student should have high environmental awareness, constantly adjust his economic and social activities to protect the environment, and coordinate the practical activities of the relationship between man and the environment and between man and himself. Through the classified management of university dormitory garbage, starting from the dormitory sanitary environment closely related to college students, let college students manage their own sanitary environment first, thus forming good environmental awareness and behavior habits.

(2) It is conducive to cultivating college students' awareness of protecting campus environment, social environment and natural environment, and promoting the formation of good ideology and morality.

Through the classified management of campus dormitory garbage, college students can start from the small things around them and start from themselves. When they walk out of the dormitory, into the campus, into the society, and into the natural environment, they can always maintain environmental awareness, establish a correct concept of environmental awareness, establish the belief of caring for the campus, adapting to the society, respecting nature and protecting the environment in the hearts of college students, promote the formation of good ideology and morality, shoulder the heavy responsibility of building a harmonious society between man and nature, and realize the strategic goal of sustainable development of China and even all mankind.

Through the classified management of dormitory garbage in colleges and universities, the environmental awareness of college students is cultivated. Second, the current problems in the classified management of college dormitory garbage

(A) the lack of environmental awareness and knowledge of garbage classification management in college dormitories

It can be found from the sanitary survey of college dormitories that most college students' dormitories lack the awareness of garbage classification management and environmental protection knowledge. Students in the dormitory all have a garbage basket, and even some dormitories throw away all their personal garbage, no matter what it is. There is no classified management and transportation of personal usable and unusable domestic garbage or waste, which seriously affects the sanitary condition of dormitory and even wastes resources.

(B) Colleges and universities do not publicize the classified management of dormitory garbage enough.

In view of the classified management and recycling of domestic waste in campus dormitories, the school propaganda is not strong enough, and a long-term publicity and education mechanism has not been formed, which leads to students' lack of basic knowledge of classified recycling of domestic waste in dormitory environment, and their awareness of participating in garbage recycling is not strong. Most of the dormitory garbage on campus is cleaned by campus cleaners, and the dormitory garbage is transported to the campus transfer station by manpower carts. The cleaning staff is labor-intensive, and the workload increases when cleaning the dormitory corridor. It shows that students' consciousness of consciously maintaining the sanitary environment of dormitory is not high.

(C) colleges and universities departments failed to do a good job of communication and coordination, departmental linkage, comprehensive improvement.

Most colleges and universities have a certain degree of rectification and control over students' sales inside and outside the campus, while other departments on campus turn a blind eye to students' take-out, and even some college canteens provide students with disposable plastic bags and disposable cups. Therefore, the most common type of garbage in campus dormitory is take-away food packaging garbage. Due to the large amount of garbage, students are not aware of garbage classification management, which leads to littering, dumping and misplacing. In addition, the take-away garbage is oily and smelly, which is difficult to handle, and it has become a difficult problem in the classified management of dormitory garbage.

(D) It is difficult to follow up the equipment and facilities of garbage classification management in university dormitories.

The classified management of college dormitory garbage should not only promote education and enhance the environmental awareness of college students, but also provide reasonable equipment for the classified management of college dormitory garbage. Entering the dormitory area of some colleges and universities, it is not difficult to find that there are few trash cans that reflect the types of garbage classification. Some colleges and universities are just a big trash can for students to deliver downstairs. Students want to sort the garbage in the process of transporting it, but they don't know how to deal with it. It is impossible to create conditions for garbage classification management from the facilities.

Third, how to cultivate college students' environmental thinking by using the classified management form of dormitory garbage

(A) to strengthen the popularization and education of college students' theoretical knowledge of environmental protection

Give full play to the position role of colleges and universities in cultivating and educating college students, and actively popularize college students' environmental protection knowledge from the perspective of education. Colleges and universities attach importance to the cultivation of college students' environmental awareness. By increasing the corresponding environmental knowledge education courses, they offer 1 ~ 2 environmental protection elective courses or public elective courses for non-environmental majors, so as to popularize the necessary environmental knowledge for college students, make them fully aware of environmental problems and have a certain understanding and understanding of the basic conditions and methods of environmental protection.

(B) Strengthen the publicity of environmental awareness of college students, and give full play to the role of campus cultural activities in promoting environmental protection.

First of all, by carrying out environmental protection and campus cultural protection activities on campus, we will use World Environment Day, Earth Day, World No Tobacco Day, World Water Day, World Food Day and other environment-related anniversaries and commemorative themes to carry out campus cultural publicity activities focusing on popularizing environmental science knowledge. Secondly, environmental experts and scholars are invited to the campus to explain environmental policies and regulations, current situation, problems and solutions. Third, carry out social practice activities, and fully organize college students to carry out environmental protection activities with social environmental protection organizations by doing environmental protection activities with local governments in their communities. Finally, carry out campus cultural activities to stimulate college students' innovative ability, and extensively carry out competitions on environmental protection knowledge, skills and design among college students, such as DIY environmental protection design competition for dormitory and environmental protection knowledge competition. To stimulate college students' enthusiasm for environmental protection and enhance their awareness of environmental protection.

(3) All departments of the school should do a good job in communication and coordination, unify their caliber, coordinate departments, and comprehensively improve.

The school should communicate and coordinate the environmental sanitation problems in the dormitory, comprehensively rectify the take-away kitchen waste that has an important impact on the dormitory sanitation problems and garbage classification management, do a good job in management, and cooperate with the departments. The educational administration department should do a good job in students' ideological education and dormitory management, and advocate students to bring their own lunch boxes to the canteen for packaging; The canteen management department prohibits the provision of plastic bags, disposable lunch boxes and disposable cups for students to pack; The security department should control the delivery problem. All departments should make concerted efforts to better control and deal with the take-away garbage, which seriously affects the classified management of dormitory garbage.

(D) Improve the infrastructure of campus garbage disposal and recycling management.

On the premise of cultivating students' awareness of environmental protection and hygiene, the school campus should rationally plan the location of trash cans in the dormitory, put trash cans with obvious classification marks downstairs in the dormitory, and return the garbage classification management behavior to every student in each dormitory; Through everyone's participation and environmental awareness, let students participate in the classified management of campus garbage disposal, thus enhancing students' environmental awareness and forming good environmental behavior in the dormitory.

Environmental protection is the responsibility and mission of all mankind. As a fresh force and highly educated group in the future motherland construction, it is necessary for college students to improve their environmental awareness, strengthen and cultivate their environmental awareness through classified management of campus dormitory garbage, so that students can form good environmental behavior and habits in colleges and universities, thus promoting and driving the whole society to pay attention to environmental protection, carry out environmental protection activities, and implement environmental protection, forming a good environmental protection atmosphere in which everyone cares about the environment and everyone saves energy and reduces emissions.
