Your child's kindergarten, there is also a wild game?

Wen/Bi Yan

? My son, who is in middle kindergarten.

? In the morning, observed my son's first kindergarten field game. A toy submachine gun was pestle to the hand, he looked a little confused, others in the "charge", he mostly do with the hands to protect the head of the action (pictured above); to see a companion "injured" was carried on a stretcher, his eyes showed a hint of panic. He is probably remembering the bad experience with his father.

? On that occasion, the three-year-old made a gun gesture with his right thumb and forefinger, and pointed it at his dad, "popping". Dad immediately dropped his chores and slapped his right hand unmercifully. One stormed off, the other howled. That night, my family quickly formed three camps: one, absolutely opposed to the gun gesture, two, think it can be done but do not point it at people, three, think it is not a big deal.

? Holding the first view is the child's father, a German who grew up after World War II. In the 1960s and 1970s of the last century, when German society openly and widely discussed Germany's culpability in World War II, West Germany's primary and secondary schools to fully implement World War II history education, textbooks with a large number of primary source materials and pictures, so that students can see the nature of the Nazi regime. As a result, this generation has mixed extremely complex emotions about their own country's recent history, in which there is more guilt than pride. 1939 the Austrian crazy patriotism, Germanic national optimism and xenophobia and other arguments, had incited countless German people fervent patriotic sentiments and a sense of national superiority, and then fell into the blind worship and for the fatherland for the nation to fight for. As the originator of the two world wars and a defeated country, Germany's reflection on the war is beyond everyone's expectation, to cite four incidents: first, on December 7, 1970, West German Chancellor Brandt visited Poland and knelt long at the memorial to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (pictured below); and, second, on September 2 of this year, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas spoke out on the right-wing anti-immigrant demonstrations that took place in Chemnitz, Germany: "It would be a shame for our country if Hitler's salute gesture were to reappear on our streets today." The demonstration began when a German man was stabbed to death by migrants in Chemnitz in the early hours of Aug. 26 local time. Since then, there have been ongoing riots in the eastern German city, with several far-right activists demonstrating with Hitler's iconic hand gestures, which are explicitly forbidden by the German Constitution (§86a) and Civil Code (§130). Thirdly, following the outbreak of the "Arab Spring" in 2010, many people in the Arab world have been displaced and forced to flee abroad in search of survival, including nearly 3 million refugees who have sought refuge in Europe by land and sea. In line with humanitarian principles, the European Union allocates quotas to member states to accept refugees, of which Germany receives the largest number of refugees. 2015, Angela Merkel's government allowed about 1 million refugees to enter Germany. Fourth, in the capital, Berlin, stands a "Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe", a symbol of Germany's reflection and repentance for the crimes committed.

? Therefore, all the imagery, gestures, language and behavior associated with war are strongly resisted by those who hold the first view. The field game, rich in aggression and slaughter, is like the irony of a neighbor's house in a time of peace, uncovering the scars of those who lie in wait, and if you are not me, how do you know my pain?

? Holding the second view is me, the child's mother, Chinese. Of all the 1024 species of mammals on earth, who is the real killer? Is it the whale? It isn't. Is it the Pit Bull? Neither. The combined killings of whales and Pit Bulls plus 1,021 other mammals is only 0.3% of all mammals, while the killings of human beings, 1/1024th of the world's most powerful species, Homo sapiens sapiens, is seven times greater. The number of homicides caused by humans, 1/1024th of the world's most powerful species - "Homo sapiens sapiens" - is seven times higher. This is what Dr. Douglas Fields, a neuroscientist at the University of Maryland, wrote in his book Why We Snap? Humans kill, kill each other, and kill themselves more than any other mammal has ever imagined; we kill outsiders as well as dissenters from our own tribe; we kill strangers as well as those we know well, our own people, and even family members. Throughout history, humans have killed for reasons ranging from entertainment (ancient Roman arenas, bullfighting, cricket fights, etc.), to aggression, to revenge. "In the agricultural revolution, humans have deleted the lines for plants and animals." (A Brief History of the Future: From Homo Sapiens to Homo Divinis)

? Austrian psychologist Sigmund Freud's later thought presented the death instinct as a human instinct on a par with the love instinct (also known as the sex instinct), which, according to his doctrinal claims, is used to explain certain dark, destructive behaviors, such as cruelty, confrontation, aggression, and even killing between people. The death instinct can manifest aggression or self-destruction, when it turns to the outside, leading to attacks on others, hatred, murder, etc., and can even give rise to all destructive behaviors such as aggression, massacres, and other destructive or warlike acts between nations and peoples, and it can turn to the inside of the person him/herself and appear as self-destructive phenomena such as self-mutilation, self-mutilation, and even suicide in daily life. Of course, the death instinct can also make certain benign transformations, such as The destructive instinct can be transformed into a kind of heroism, such as the act of bravery or firefighters to put out fires. Peter, the founder of the German toy company Hape, has mentioned on different occasions that Hape brand toys will never add any elements related to violence. In 2016, we went to Afghanistan to donate, and with the toys we were dumbfounded as soon as we arrived at the Kabul Children's Center Hospital: the sick children there, instead of colds and fevers, had broken arms and legs. ? While the Bible says only "Thou shalt not kill", all agricultural religions (including Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism) claim a natural hierarchy, believing that "humans are just superior, and it is normal to exploit animals. " This is another dimension that will not be expanded upon today. If aggression really is human nature, do we want to nurture it, ignite it? Give a child a gun and you don't know if he's going to kill someone or defend himself?

? The Chinese said, of course, self-defense, as thousands of years of Confucian culture, the Chinese people generally do not bully others, but "those who violate my China, though far will be executed." This is the main argument of those who hold the third view. For the children of China, war is equated with positive meanings such as protecting the family, defending the country, and being indomitable; the enemy is bullying us, so can we not rise up against it? The Constitution of the People's Republic of China stipulates that "It is the sacred duty of every citizen of the People's Republic of China to defend the motherland and resist aggression." In a geologic sense, the kindergarten field game is politically correct and indisputable. Although China in the Shang and Zhou Dynasty has been conscription system, to the Han Dynasty to become the strongest dynasty in ancient China is also said to be because of the conscription system is too good, but don't forget that the story of the "lost man" is also out of the Western Han Dynasty; the movie "Darkest Hour" there is a scene when the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill stood in front of the military map waving a brush, his female typist With a trembling voice, said: my boyfriend, just as you are ready to never retreat from Dunkirk.

? In front of the grand national interests and the long history, the humble individual also quickly understood the mettle. Stay in the mountains, not afraid of no firewood. Only, you think so, your country, also think so. "Corporations, currencies, and nations, all exist only in our imaginations, and it is mankind that invented these concepts so that they could serve mankind." (A Brief History of the Future: From Homo Sapiens to Homo Sapiens) In the Ministry of Education's Guidelines for Kindergarten Education, "love of the motherland" is listed as one of the five major components of kindergarten education-health, language, social studies, science, and art. There is nothing wrong with "loving the motherland", but can patriotism in universal values be more depoliticized than defending one's territory from invasion? Whether it can not be smashed a certain production car, a certain cuisine restaurant, a certain country outside the patriotism?

? This year marks the centenary of the Armistice of the First World War. To understand the war, one should not listen to tactical maneuvers or demagogic pronouncements, one should not look up at the statue of Bismarck on the hilltop and the glorious medals of the veterans, but one should look into the eyes of a private. Human beings find out meaning from their own inner experience and create meaning for meaningless behavior, consciousness and the world. x strengthens x man's courage, the son came home from school and made a gesture with his thumb and forefinger, and his father stared at him with round eyes and asked: what is this? Seeing the situation, the son says: It's an electric drill. Then to the wall, began to whimper and drill. See, isn't this giving himself a hard time?
