What is the wind in summer?

Southeast winds usually blow in summer. In summer, the temperature of the mainland rises rapidly after being irradiated by the sun, leading to updraft and near-surface low pressure area; At the same time, the ocean temperature rises slowly and the airflow sinks, forming a high pressure area; The air flow in the high pressure area flows to the low pressure area, that is, the air flow over the ocean flows to the land, bringing rich water vapor and causing rainfall. This air flow is the summer monsoon. The summer monsoon is mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical areas north of the equator.

1, South Asian monsoon region: including the coastal areas of the North Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal, including the Indian subcontinent and Indochina Peninsula. In summer in the northern hemisphere, the southeast trade wind from the subtropical high in the southern hemisphere, after crossing the equator, becomes the southwest wind (equatorial westerly wind) under the influence of geostrophic bias, and with the influence of Somali topography, becomes a strong southwest airflow blowing to the Indian subcontinent. In addition, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is heated, forming the Qinghai-Tibet high at high altitude, which strengthens the high-altitude divergence in this area, makes the summer monsoon in the South Asian monsoon region strong and stable, and produces a lot of convection activities.

2. East Asian monsoon region: including the South China Sea and the Pacific Northwest, including the east coast of Indochina Peninsula, eastern and southern China, Philippine Islands, Taiwan Province Province, Ryukyu Islands and Japan. In summer in the northern hemisphere, Oceania in the southern hemisphere radiates heat obviously, becoming a cold source, and the air pressure is higher than that in the ocean. Monsoon air flows from southeast to northwest, then enters the northern hemisphere, and is deflected into southwest wind due to geostrophic force. After mixing, the South Asian monsoon passing through Indo-China Peninsula turned to China under the influence of the inland thermal depression in China. In addition, the southeast airflow on the west side of the subtropical high ridge in the northwest Pacific is also a part of the East Asian monsoon, which will develop into a monsoon trough with the cross-red airflow. Most tropical cyclones in the northwest Pacific are developed in the monsoon trough.
