What are the types of tourism?

Tourism is divided into the following seven categories from the perspective of tourists.

1 sightseeing tourists

2 leisure tourists

3 official tourists

4 individuals and family business tourists

5 health care tourists

6 cultural knowledge-based tourists

7 eco/adventure tourists

These five types of tourists and their respective characteristics are:

Objective To understand cultural tourists-cultural tourism is the primary reason for them to visit their destinations and gain in-depth cultural experience.

Sightseeing cultural tourists-cultural tourism is the primary or main reason for them to visit a destination, but the experience is shallower than the former.

Unexpected cultural tourists-they don't travel because of cultural tourism, but gain a deep cultural tourism experience after participating in cultural tourism activities.

Leisure cultural tourists-cultural tourism is their weak motivation to visit a destination, and their experience is shallow.

Occasionally, cultural tourists-those who don't travel for the purpose of cultural tourism, just take part in some activities and get a superficial experience.
