China's folk custom to use the lunar month to divide the four seasons. January to March of the lunar calendar for the spring, April to June for the summer, July to September for the fall, October to December for the winter. The first day of the first month is the first day of the year and the first day of spring, so it is also called the Spring Festival.
Climate statistics, because January is generally the coldest month, so the spring, for March, April and May; summer, for June, July and August; fall, for September, October and November; and winter, for December, January and February.
