Measures for the implementation of cultural relics protection in Shanxi Province

Chapter I General Provisions Article 1 In order to strengthen the protection and management of cultural relics in this province and give full play to the role of cultural relics in the construction of socialist material civilization and spiritual civilization, these measures are formulated in accordance with the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Protection of Cultural Relics and combined with the actual situation of this province. Article 2 The following cultural relics in this province shall be protected:

(1) Sites of ancient culture, sites of ancient cities, ancient kiln sites, ancient tombs, ancient buildings and their appendages, ancient dwellings, cave temples, stone carvings, ancient trees and famous springs with historical, artistic and scientific value;

(two) buildings, sites and relics related to major historical events, revolutionary movements and famous people, which are of great commemorative, educational and historical value:

(3) Precious artworks and arts and crafts of past dynasties;

(4) Important revolutionary documents, manuscripts and ancient books of historical, artistic and scientific value;

(five) representative objects reflecting the social system, social production and social life of various times and ethnic groups in history;

(six) vertebrate paleontology, ancient plants and ancient human fossils with scientific value;

(seven) other cultural relics that need to be protected. Fourth, people's governments at all levels are responsible for the protection of cultural relics within their respective administrative areas.

The departments for cultural administration of the people's governments at all levels shall be in charge of the work of cultural relics within their respective administrative areas.

All organs, organizations, military units, schools, enterprises, institutions, other organizations and individuals have the obligation to protect national cultural relics.
