Why can pure electric vehicles design a closed front face?

As we all know, traditional fuel vehicles are different from modern new energy vehicles. The traditional fuel vehicle has an open air intake grille at the front of the engine, which can play the role of ventilation, heat dissipation and air exchange. And many fuel vehicles, in the rear, middle and rear engine models, will also have a rear open air intake grille. However, I believe many people should see that the front grille of many new energy vehicles running on the road is fully enclosed. What is the reason for this design concept?

With the development of the times, the internal combustion engine will eventually be replaced by electric motors, and the design on diesel locomotives will eventually disappear on electric vehicles, but this change is gradual, and consumers may need many years to establish themselves to adapt to new things.

However, when the traditional fuel engine is running, whether it is a naturally aspirated engine or a turbocharged engine, it will continue to work to dissipate heat, just like an athlete needs strong breathing when exercising. The pure electric vehicle without engine is driven by the power battery in the motor, and the heat dissipation demand is much less than that of the engine. Moreover, both the battery pack and the motor system have their own independent cooling systems. From this point of view, it is not a good idea to continue to use the air intake grille in the field of electric vehicles.

Many designers also believe that electric vehicles no longer need air intake grille, which can make the front face of the car play more freely, and at the same time, it can leave more space for headlights and make many cars more recognizable.

Second, canceling the air intake grille can effectively reduce vehicle resistance. During the operation of the motor, the heat generated is not very large, which also leads to the low requirement for the heat dissipation function of the automobile, which can be completed only by ordinary water cooling system, and the heat generated is not enough to heat the antifreeze to a boiling state.

As can be seen from the above points, since the electric vehicle does not need heat dissipation, we don't need air intake grille, otherwise letting a lot of air into the engine will increase the driving resistance of the vehicle. You know, in a fuel car, the open air intake grille will make the engine compartment the place with the largest drag coefficient. Electric vehicles don't need heat dissipation, ventilation and ventilation, so they don't need air intake grille. The middle net of the front engine can let the car go down from the beginning, reduce the resistance of the car and improve the cruising range of the car.
