Properties of PDMS

Liquid dimethyl siloxane is a viscous liquid, called silicone oil, which is a mixture of siloxanes with chain structure with different polymerization degrees, and its end groups and side groups are hydrocarbon groups (such as methyl, ethyl and phenyl). ). Generally, silicone oil is a colorless, odorless, nontoxic and nonvolatile liquid.

Solid dimethyl siloxane is a kind of silica gel, which is non-toxic, hydrophobic, waterproof, inert, nonflammable and transparent elastomer. Dimethyl siloxane has the advantages of simple and fast manufacturing process, much lower material cost than silicon wafer, good light transmittance, good biocompatibility, easy adhesion with various materials at room temperature, low Young's modulus and high structural flexibility.
