● Yuan 'an Flower Drum Opera
Yuan 'an ancient painting plays are popular in Yuan 'an and its surrounding areas. Its predecessor, commonly known as Huaguzi, originated in Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty with a history of about 150 years. Yuan 'an's ancient paintings and operas have distinctive features: First, they have the traditional "three little ones", namely, Xiao Sheng, Xiao Dan and the clown, which are integrated with reading, singing, doing and playing. Second, the singing is rich and beautiful. The main cavity can be divided into four types: ceramic cavity, Han cavity, southern cavity and Siping cavity. Color cavity is Qupai style. ● Jiandong ancient painting and drama
Jiandong ancient painting drama is a small rural drama circulating in Zigui County. This folk custom is called "Lantern Opera" for short, and its origin is related to the custom of "playing with lanterns" in the traditional festival in the Three Gorges area. Jiandong ancient painting opera has a unique singing style, which can be roughly divided into two parts: positive tune and minor tune. Zheng Qiang was borrowed from the shadow play, and Minor was borrowed from the Flower Drum. It is farmers' favorite social drama after work, with a history of over 150 years.

Shadow play is the earliest and most popular ancient folk drama in China. Also known as shadow play or lamp shadow play, the hollow and colored translucent hides (mostly cowhide and donkey hide) are illuminated by lights to form a projection, and performances are performed with vocal music, ventriloquism and accompaniment of gongs and drums. Shadow play was once popular in Yiling, Zigui, Yuan 'an, Changyang, Dianjun and other places under the jurisdiction of Yichang. Most shadow puppeteers are busy with farming, and their audience is mainly mountain farmers. The music of shadow play has nine tunes and eighteen boards, and the singing is mainly "Nuo tune" and "Zouma tune". At the same time, it absorbs local minor and sings different tunes according to the emotional changes of the characters in the plot, which fully embodies the local style of shadow play.

Fan drama is named after fans as the main performance props, and it is popular in Dangyang and Zhijiang. There are two people in a class, both men. One has many horns and is both rapping and singing. They don't wear makeup or costumes. As long as "two fans, a few strings, master Nanguan (percussion instrument) and paintings" can perform Yichang's traditional opera culture and film and television dramas, which has the characteristics of board cavity and monorail structure.
