A suitable design for a semi-fixed bridge is
Semi-fixed bridges have different connectors at both ends. One end of the bridge is a fixed connector, which is fixedly connected to the fixing body; the other end is a movable connector, which is mostly of the peg body-peg channel type structure, usually the peg body is located at one side of the bridge, and the peg channel is located at one side of the fixing body. When the semi-fixed bridge is in place, the pins on the bridge are embedded in the pins on the fixed body, forming a movable connection with a certain degree of movement. Semi-fixed bridges are generally used when the tilt of the abutment teeth on one side is large, or when the tilt direction of the abutment teeth on both sides differs greatly, and it is difficult to design a double-ended fixed bridge to obtain the **** same seating channel. The design of single-ended fixed bridges can only be used when the gap between the missing teeth is small; the patient's joint force is not large; the roots of the abutment teeth are thick, periodontal health, and sufficient support; the crowns are in normal shape and can provide good retention force for the retainer.
