What are the causes of strawberry fruit deformity and chromatic aberration? How to deal with it?

If strawberries are planted in greenhouses, they can be on the market in half a season, and fresh strawberries can be tasted even in cold winter. However, the phenomenon of strawberry deformed fruit planted in greenhouse occasionally occurs, which can reach 30% in serious cases. Deformed fruit is not only bad in appearance, taste and price, but also a headache for growers, so it is of practical significance to solve the problem of strawberry malformation.

There are many reasons for abnormal fruit of strawberry, but there are three kinds of abnormal fruit, such as disordered fruit, uneven fertilization and soft top deformity.

Reasons for the formation of chaotic fruit

Normal strawberry shapes are round, conical and wedge-shaped. Chaos fruit refers to the fruit with strange shape. The main reason for the confusion is the excessive supply of nitrogen fertilizer or the insufficient supply of boron fertilizer.

There is an oversupply of nitrogen fertilizer.

Strawberries cultivated in greenhouses in the north usually start to differentiate into flower buds in the middle and late September, about half a month after dinner, and it usually takes about 20 days to complete. If the plant nutrition supply is normal, in the early stage of flower bud differentiation, the growth point of the bud is round, hypertrophy, uplift, rapid expansion and gradually form flowers. If the supply of nitrogen fertilizer is large, the growing point will be long, flat and long, and will develop into flat flower buds under the condition of overnutrition. This bud will grow into disorderly fruit when it is in full bloom.

The confusion caused by rickets: Rickets plays a very important role in the formation and development of strawberry flowers. Plants have poor fluidity in the body. Cadmium deficiency in strawberry flower bud differentiation will lead to cadmium deficiency in plant growth points. In this case, nitrogen and excessive supply appear at the growing point, which becomes flat and long, develops into calyx-shaped deformed buds, and finally forms deformed fruits after correction. In the process of strawberry planting in greenhouse, the lack of tungsten is largely caused by insufficient application of boron fertilizer.

Reasons for the formation of concave-convex deformed fruit

Although the deformed fruits with poor fertilization have different shapes, they all have the common characteristics of uneven and wrinkled fruit surfaces. When pollinating at flowering stage, if the flowers are incomplete, some pistils will be fertilized and some will not. A large amount of growth hormone is gathered in the site where fertilization is completed, and the growth hormone in the body is the driving force of nutrient transportation. The site where fertilization is completed has a large amount of nutrient supply and grows rapidly. Some parts that have not been transformed have insufficient nutrition supply and slow growth. It is for this reason that the whole strawberry fruit surface appears uneven.

There are four main reasons for incomplete fertilization of strawberry flowers: unscientific variety selection, unscientific small fruit, inappropriate flowering temperature and spraying during flowering.

Choose unscientific varieties

There are many varieties of strawberries, but some varieties have specific defects. For example, some kinds of flowers, the male is short and the female is long. Some varieties have inconsistent male development, less male pollen and less mature pollen. Choosing this variety will cause poor correction because of its own defects, which will eventually lead to deformed fruit. (2) Su Hua Institute is unscientific.

Usually, each strawberry has two inflorescences, and each inflorescence continuously grows 10~60 flowers. Taking strawberry as an example, different grades of pistils and stamens have different development and maturity abilities. Generally speaking, low-grade strawberry flower males are prone to development failure. The pistil of high-grade strawberry flowers is prone to development failure. The phenomenon of poor development of male or female flowers easily leads to poor fertilization and abnormal fruit.
