Ancient Archery Training Methods
Ancient archery training methods are as follows:
The three grips for archery are the winged grip, the two-finger grip, and the palm force grip.
1, "winged grip". The basic steps of this grip are: the forefinger and middle finger are placed on the two "wings" of the arrow skips, and then use the index finger to grasp the top of the arrow skips, so that the shooter's remaining three fingers fully grasp the arrow skips; finally, the little finger on the bottom of the arrow skips, and tighten the palm of your hand downward to ensure that the arrow can be shot forcefully. The "wing grip" is one of the oldest grips, and has the advantage that the "wings" of the arrow fit better, making the arrow more secure and giving it a better grip when shooting.
2. The two-finger grip. This grip is very simple, the basic steps are: directly with the thumb and forefinger to grasp the arrow skips, so that the shooter's other three fingers just to support the arrow skips gently; finally, with the palm of the hand down to tighten the skips, in order to ensure that the arrows can be shot out strongly. The "two-finger grip" is a simple but effective grip, and its advantage is that it is easier for the shooter to grasp the arrow, and the position and direction of the arrow can be more accurately controlled.
3. "Palm grip". The basic steps of this grip are: put the thumb and index finger on the two "wings" of the arrow, then use the middle finger and ring finger to grab the bottom of the arrow, and finally, use the little finger and palm to pull the arrow forward to ensure that the shooter's palm is strong enough to grasp the arrow, so that the arrow can be shot with force.
The three styles are the Pinched Arrow Style, the Mongolian Style, and the Mediterranean Style.
1, pinch arrow style: Most people will unconsciously pinch the end of the arrow with their forefinger and thumb when they shoot for the first time, this is the "pinch arrow style". The advantage of this technique is that the release action is clean - when the shooter pulls to a certain limit, the friction can no longer retain the arrow, and the arrow will naturally shoot out. However, this technique is difficult to use with slightly stronger bows, unless the shooter has exceptional finger strength.
2. Mongolian style: The Mongolian style of lofting is an archery style commonly used in ancient Eastern countries, characterized by the hand pulling the bowstring using the thumb to hold the string, the index finger pressed on the thumb, the arrow tail stuck in the thumb and forefinger finger pit, and the arrow resting on the right side of the bow. Mongolian style nocking is generally used for traditional bows. With the Mongolian style, the arrow shaft is on the right side of the bow's handle and the arrow rests on the top of the thumb so that it does not fall off easily.
3, Mediterranean style: Mediterranean style archery is a kind of archery method commonly used in ancient western countries. Its technology is characterized by a hand to open the bow, the other hand of the index finger middle finger ring finger three fingers to pull the bowstring, and the tail of the arrow clamped between the index finger and the middle finger, hard to open the bow to the cheek, and then naturally spread, the arrow rests on the left side of the bow, recurve bows are on the left side of the arrow platform. Nowadays, the general recurve bows and so on are using the Mediterranean style, beginners can use the lower three fingers, that is, all three fingers are placed under the arrow.
