Job specialization is a traditional job design method. It decomposes the work into many small, simple, standardized and specialized operation contents and procedures through the study of actions and time, and trains and encourages workers to maintain high efficiency.
This work design method is the most widely used in assembly line production. The practice of job enlargement is to expand the tasks and responsibilities contained in a job, but these jobs are very similar to those previously undertaken by employees. They are only the horizontal expansion of work content, and do not require employees to have new skills, so they have not changed the boring and monotonous work of employees. The so-called job enrichment means giving employees more responsibility, autonomy and control in their work. Job enrichment is different from job expansion and job rotation. It does not increase the work content of employees horizontally, but increases vertically.
In this way, employees will undertake heavier tasks and responsibilities, and employees will have greater autonomy and a higher degree of self-management, as well as feedback on work performance.
