Cheongsam has gradually entered people's lives. What decorative patterns did cheongsam have in the Republic of China?

1. Plant model. Plant patterns such as flowers and plants are the most widely used patterns in cheongsam in the Republic of China. These plants from nature are extracted to form pattern elements, which are very harmonious with women's living environment and softer than animal patterns, so they are more easily accepted and loved by people. Traditional flower patterns such as peony, peony and lotus are deeply loved by people. 2. Animal patterns. In ancient China, the use of dragons and phoenixes was strictly restricted. During the Republic of China, due to the collapse of the Qing government, the shackles of feudal ideas were gradually eliminated, and traditional animal patterns such as dragons, tigers and leopards symbolizing power and status were incompatible with the idea of advocating freedom and democracy during the Republic of China, and the frequency of use was greatly reduced. However, because of its gorgeous and soft graphics, Feng Huangwen symbolizes wealth and good fortune, which is very consistent with the temperament of cheongsam in the Republic of China. Therefore, it is often used in earlier cheongsam, and sometimes it appears at the same time with peony pattern, which means good luck and wealth. Magpie, butterfly and other symbols of happiness and beauty are often used in the pattern of folded cheongsam.

3. Geometric patterns. Cheongsam in the Qing Dynasty developed to the later stage, and its decoration was extremely complicated. By the time of the Republic of China, people seemed to deliberately run counter to it, and one of the manifestations was the use of geometric patterns. Influenced by modern western abstract art, many geometric patterns have appeared. For example, there is a pattern of repeated abstract geometry. The pattern is a bit like the waves in the "patchwork" of Ming and Qing officials. Light yellow, dark yellow and warm red lines are dotted with indigo, which is exquisite and elegant.
