Is there a difference between plastic and wood? It seems that wood is expensive and plastic is cheap.
The difference is that the plastic floating die (usually blow molding)+manual production, while the wood (usually balsam wood) floating by mechanical processing, manual installation, debugging, painting, the production cost is relatively high. However, the latter is far superior to the plastic float in concentricity, turnover characteristics, descending characteristics, water consumption and exquisite decoration.
As far as the materials for making floats are concerned, there were natural and handmade bamboo, wood, grass and feathers in the early days, and Nan Di (reed), Bashan wood, peacock feathers and imported nano-materials (high-density plastics) in modern times.
Wooden floats also need low-priced products, which can compete with plastic floats for a few dollars.
The price and cost accounting of floats is a complicated business process, so I won't talk about it here. If the float has the attribute of art, its value cannot be measured by good fishing.
