How to wear sterile surgical gown?

Methods of wearing sterile clothes and sterile gloves

Disinfection of hands and arms can only remove bacteria on the surface of skin, but bacteria existing in deep layers such as skin wrinkles, hair follicles and sebaceous glands are not easy to be completely eliminated. These bacteria will gradually transfer to the skin surface during the operation, so you must wear sterile clothes and sterile gloves after disinfection of hands and arms to prevent bacteria from polluting the operation field and causing infection.

1. Wear sterile surgical gown: after disinfection with both hands, open the door with the back. Enter the operating room and start wearing surgical gowns.

The method of wearing surgical gown is as follows:

(1) Take out the sterile surgical gown and stand in a spacious place.

(2) Know the upper and lower sides of clothes and pay attention to the folding method of clothes. The skirt (opening) of the surgical gown is facing forward, and the cuffs are facing yourself. Hold the collar, separate to both sides, and gently shake off the surgical gown.

(3) Gently throw the surgical gown forward and upward, put your arms into the sleeve, and put your hands forward.

(4) Please ask the visiting nurse to grab the collar corners on both sides from behind and pull them back, and put her hands out of the cuffs.

(5) Bend slightly to suspend the belt (to avoid touching the front of the gown), lift the middle part of the belt with both hands crossed and pass it backwards (the belt is not crossed, and the hands cannot exceed the armpit midline), and ask the visiting nurse to fasten the belt.

2. Wear bag-type sterile surgical gown: During the operation, the operator's back often touches the surgical instrument table, and the operators touch each other, resulting in pollution of the sterile area. The back-wrapped surgical gown is a triangle towel added to the back of the ordinary surgical gown, which can wrap the back of the operator after wearing, thus reducing the chance of contamination during the operation (Figure 5-4).

(1), (2), (3) and (4) are the same as above.

(5) Dai sterile gloves.

(6) untie the slipknot of the chest belt, hold the belt connected with the triangle belt in your right hand and give it to the itinerant or the operator who has put on the surgical gown and gloves. The patrolman holds the end of the belt with disinfection forceps, and the wearer rotates once in place, then picks up the handed belt and ties it to his chest.

Note: Take clothes one by one when you take them. You can't just grab the collar and drag the surgical gown out of the sterile area. When dressing, don't hold your hands high above your head or reach out to your sides, otherwise your hands will be out of sight and easily touch unsterilized items. Hands without gloves can't touch the front of the gown, let alone put their hands in their chest pockets. Don't touch the hand of the wearer when handing the tape.

3. Degan sterile gloves

After putting on the sterile clothes, take out the sterile talcum powder from the glove rack and gently rub your hands to make them dry and smooth. If it is disposable gloves, there is no need to apply talcum powder in advance. Hold the glove cuff with your left hand and take it out of the glove bag. Distinguish between the left and right gloves. Insert your right hand into the glove of your right hand, then insert your fingers 2, 3 and 4 into the glove of your left hand to help your fingers fly, and insert your palm into the glove. Fold the wrist sleeve with both hands and pull the folded part of the glove to cover the opening of the surgical sleeve. Wash the talcum powder outside the gloves with sterile normal saline to reduce the stimulation to the tissues.

Precautions: when wearing dry gloves, wear surgical gown first, and then put on a cover; The hand that comes to wear gloves can only touch the inside of the glove, not the outside. On the contrary, a gloved hand can only touch the outside of the glove, but not the inside. When waiting for the operation, put your hands on your chest or put them in your chest pocket. Never droop or put your hands under your arms.
