What is the Saoya School? Noun interpretation

"Sao Ya Ci School", or Jiang School and Jiang Kui Ci School, is also called metrical Ci School, elegant Ci School, elegant Ci School and classical Ci School. Although the names are different, they refer to the same thing, that is, the essence is exactly the same. "Sao Ya Ci School" is the largest Ci school with the largest number of poets in the late Southern Song Dynasty, and it is also a group of scholars with outstanding achievements and equal emphasis on theory and practice. The reason why this school of ci poetry is called "Sao Ya" is that the artistic origin of its poets is mostly rooted in Chu Ci, especially Li Sao, which means that the artistic spirit and aesthetic taste of their works are closely related to ancient Chu culture. Compared with Su Xin Ci School, Su Shi Ci School, Jia Ci School and Jiangxi Ci School, the artistic features of Sao Ci School with distinctive features are naturally quite different. This is also one of the key reasons why there are so many writers in this school.

Saoya School: Jiang Kui's ci has the characteristics of "Saoya School", so later generations collectively referred to some Southern Song poets represented by Jiang Kui as "Saoya School". These include Jiang Kui, Shi Dazu, Gao, Zhang Yan, Wang, and others in the middle and late Southern Song Dynasty. They pay more attention to the arrangement of artificial thinking, similar to Zhou Bangyan. However, their pursuit of style is more clear and conscious, and they pay more attention to the traditional traditions of "elegance" and "coquettish". The so-called "elegance" means that they are all influenced by the times, flaunting elegance and taking elegance as their aesthetic ideal. The so-called "Sao" refers to the poet's brushwork, focusing on inheriting the lyric tradition initiated and represented by Li Sao, with the main purpose of expressing oneself and expressing self's subjective description. Jiang Kui is the highest representative of this school.
